After over 35 years in the Bossier City real estate market, I have learned many valuable lessons about buying and selling real estate and, most importantly, dealing with people.

When I started out, I made a statement that went something like this: “If my only reason for doing this business is for the money…I’m getting out.”

Many real estate agents in our market (probably every market) work only for the money. I know they say differently, but it’s not hard to figure it out after spending 20–30 days dealing with them.

I refuse to name names, but I thought I would write a quick post and tell everyone in the Shreveport real estate market that I’m still in it to help people find their homes or sell their existing ones. Zig Ziglar said, “If you help enough people get what they want…you will get what you want.”

After hearing him say that at a national event, I decided that was a great attitude and would take any emphasis off of me and/or money and put it squarely on the most important thing…my client. There’s something else you may like to know.

I’ve reached one of those periods in my life where I’m reflecting on how much influence I’ve had within the Shreveport-Bossier City market. I also want to discuss how many of my objectives I’ve achieved since starting in 1988. In 2023, I turned sixty. It seems like only the other day I was graduating from college.

On the list of accomplishments I’m most proud of is how I’ve parented my kids. My wife and I have reared four children: two daughters and two sons. Each one of them has already had many achievements. They are successful in life and have decided on a career path. I couldn’t be more proud of my children.

I realize most of this does not have much to do with the Shreveport Bossier real estate market, but it has everything to do with what makes me a top real estate agent.

I believe being grounded and having a family I care about helps make me a better Realtor. So, if you are looking for a real estate agent who has a life away from his career as an agent, I’m your guy.
